Get rich quick, part II

March 4th, 2009

Although the recent financial crisis has took some shine off the them, banks are still considered great money pits.  And tough time has inspired many to try to break in and get the spoils.  For those prefer to use their brain power to play a mental game, we have created The Bank Job.

This is an addictive block puzzle game: there is a piece represent the brilliant strategist - you.  There are 9 other pieces of different size and shape which represent the usual obticals you will run into at a bank: security guards, high tech sensors, vedio cameras,  3 feet thick vaults and old fashion guard dogs…  Your job is to move these pieces around so your bank robber can move the the bottom of the screen and collect all the money.

Remember, sometimes you need to take a step back in order to move forward.

An interesting iPhone app blog for puzzlers

January 27th, 2009

We love puzzles.  We love to share puzzles with puzzle lovers.  Lamp Off is one, and when Road to the White House gets approved, it will be another.  There are a couple more mind-benders we are working on as well.  So you can imaging my delight to find Puzzling iPhone, a blog by Michael dedicated to reviewing puzzlers in App Store.   A diligent writer, he has over 4 dozen reviews of puzzle games on iPhone.  It is worth noting that he not only reviews the game, but also provides info on the origins of these games as most are ported over from PC or board games.  Nice job!

Lamp Off is updated

January 20th, 2009

We found a couple of bugs in Lamp Off game.  Version 1.1 is released and is avaialble in AppStore now.

Specifically:

1. At level 50, Solve function now works.

2. After level 52, increasing level now works.

Apparently there are folks have gotten that far in this game.  Amazing …

“Lamp Off” is out of development!

January 15th, 2009

We just finished development of Lamp Off, our third game.  Yeha!

The game play is pretty simple: you have a board with 25 light bulbs.  At each level, a number of bulbs are lit.  Light bulbs will toggle between on and off when touched, along with the 4 surrounding bulbs.  The goal is to turn off all the bulbs on the board.

Now, Lamp Off is not quite original as the Pipe Dream.  There are earlier PC incarnations of similar idea.  I have even seen an first gen iPhone game of same nature.  What we did here is really to jazz up the graphics and game play to make it much more appealing.  The graphics in this game is the best we had so far.  Kudos to our graphics designer!

There is a fantastic star linked wheel to select levels of play.  In total we have 53 different levels to choose from so go ahead, pick your own challenge.

Beside normal play, we added a solve mode where we show you how to complete the game, in case you felt weak at heart.

With feedback from the other games we had so far, this is also the most polished game.   Navigation and options are all there to make it fun to play.

Can’t wait to see it through the approval process.
